Push To Rename Nashville International Airport For Dolly Parton Gains Momentum

A push to rename Nashville International Airport for Dolly Parton is gaining momentum following the country icon's death. 

The petition now has more than 120,000 signatures and Tennessee Republican state Representative Todd Warner says he plans to introduce legislation for the name change in the next session. There could be a hurdle as the airport's bylaws prohibit naming it for someone until at least two years after their death.

Dolly Parton passed away Tuesday at the age of 80. Warner says he believes a proposal honoring her could see bipartisan support.
